Welcome to ICAN of Baltimore! |

Welcome to ICAN of Baltimore. The International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc. (ICAN), is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve maternal-child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, providing support for cesarean recovery, and promoting Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC). |

Meetings are free and open to everyone. You don't have to have had a cesarean (or even have had a baby for that matter) in order to attend. Dads, partners, future parents, and children all welcome! Sometimes we have assigned topics and/or a guest speaker. Other times we just enjoy a good chat. Feel free to bring a simple snack to share (helps keep the kiddies busy) but no worries if you can't. Hope to see you soon! |

The Baltimore chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) is seeking submissions for an art exhibit titled "Cesarean Voices." The exhibit will be the first of its kind in the country and will be an exploration of the issues surrounding cesarean birth. It would also serve to help educate the public to the reality that cesareans can have profoundly negative physical and emotional consequences for women and those close to them.
